Logging In and Passwords

This guide explains how to access your Digital Fife website and manage passwords.

Before your website goes live

Before your website is made public, it is protected by an administrator password.

Digital Fife will provide you with an administrator password when your website is created.

Accessing your website

1. Visit the Digital Fife website.
2. Select your website from the website dropdown menu on the homepage, or use the direct link provided by Digital Fife.
3. Enter the administrator password when prompted.
4. Once logged in, the control panel menu options will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. 
   You can now begin adding and editing content on your website.

Changing your administrator password

We recommend changing the administrator password provided by Digital Fife when you first access your website.

1. Log in to your website.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on Admin.
3. Go to Basic Setup.
4. Enter your new administrator password.
5. Click Save.
    

Sharing your site before it goes live

If you have a new website that has not yet been made live, no one else will be able to see it unless you give them access. You can give people access using a password, which allows them to view the site without making them an editor.

1. Go to Admin > Your Account > Basic Set-up

2. Enter or update the guest password.

3. Click update

You can now share the URL of your site with this password for viewing only.

You can then share the website link and guest password.

After your website goes live

Once your website has been made public, editors can log in using the login link in the website footer.

Logging in as an administrator

1. Visit your website.
2. Scroll to the bottom of any page.
3. Click Login.
4. Enter admin in the username box.
5. Enter your administrator password.
6. Click Login.
   Once logged in, the control panel menu options will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

You can now edit your website.
