This includes the one in six Scottish adults who lack the digital skills needed for everyday life.

New Scottish Digital Support HelplineThe charity People Know How in partnership with the Scottish Government and Scottish Council of Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) operate the national Connecting Scotland Digital Support Helpline. The helpline provides digital support to anyone in Scotland. It is free to call and is open from Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. The helpline aims to make digital support open and accessible to all to allow everyone to fully participate in the online world by offering free support on topics such as: Using devices like smartphones, tablets, laptops or desktop computers, connecting to the internet, navigating the web and social media, managing finances, paying bills and saving money online and finding opportunities for education and employment.

Stop nuisance calls to you mobileMobile phone users can send a simple, free text message to opt out of unsolicited sales and marketing calls from today. The 'text-to-register' service, launched by the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and Ofcom, enables mobile phone users to add their number to the UK's official 'do not call' database by texting 'TPS' and their email address to 78070.
It is illegal for organisations to make unsolicited sales and marketing calls to numbers registered with the TPS, unless they have a person's consent to do so.
