Page Layout Overview

Every individual page has an introduction, a main content area, which can be split into columns, and a conclusion.

Page content is built using 'widgets' in each area. Whilst in editor mode, you can add new content such as text or pictures using the yellow 'new widget' label.

Introduction area

This is the first editable section on the page. Use this for:

  • Page Titles
  • Introductions

Tip: Using titles and introductions improves accessibility and helps screen readers. You can add page title and short introduction using the Text widget

Main content area

The central part of the page where most ‘widgets’ go; text, pictures, buttons.

  • You can choose 1 to 4 columns
  • The widths of the columns are editable under 'page settings' at the bottom of the screen.
  • It is worth bearing in mind that columns stack on mobile from top to bottom, left to right.
  • If you are not using columns, you can set their widths to 0% so they don't still take up space.

Conclusion area

An optional final section at the bottom. Use this for:

  • Links to related pages
  • Calls to action
  • Date last updated

Information Column (optional)

  • There is also a 5th column called 'information' which can be used on the right hand side.
  • Whereas the columns in the main content area span in between the introduction and conclusion, the 'information' column takes up the whole height of the page.

You can edit the width of the columns in Page Settings at the bottom of the screen.
