Welcome to Dalgety Bay Horticultural Society
Dalgety Bay Horticultural Society is a friendly local gardening group offering monthly talks, gardening events, allotments and practical support for members.
We welcome gardeners of all experience levels, from beginners to experienced growers.
New members and visitors are always welcome at our monthly meetings. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in gardening, growing or horticulture. You do not need to be an experienced gardener to join.
Monthly Meetings
There is a monthly meeting on the first Friday of the month and takes place in the Dalgety Bay Community Centre starts at 7.30pm.
Gardening Sundries Store
Selected gardening supplies and sundries are available to members during the year. These are low cost items: bamboo poles, pea netting, membrane and plastic sheeting. Members will be notified if the opportunity arises to be included in bulk ordering of specific items like boards.
Allotments
DBHS manages the society's Allotments in Dalgety Bay. There are 48 plots at the Allotments. Due to high demand, there is a waiting list. You must be a member to join the list.
Equipment Library
Some gardening equipment is available for members to borrow. There is no longer electrical equipment in the library due to the need to PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) test equipment.
Bulk Seed Orders
Members can access discounted seed and gardening supply orders through the Society’s annual bulk ordering scheme. Seed catalogues are normally available in October.
Gardening Advice and Seasonal Recipes
A collection of information sheets, guides, seasonal recipes and links to gardening websites and videos. Use our contact page if you have advice or recipes you would like added.
