Welcome to the Kirkcaldy Men's Shed

Kirkcaldy Mens Shed in Ravenscraig Park

The Men's Shed movement originated in Australia, with roots beginning in the 1980s and the first official "Men's Shed" opening in Tongala, Victoria, in 1998. The grassroots initiative was designed to combat social isolation and improve the overall mental and physical health of older and retired men.

The Kirkcaldy Men's Shed was formed just after covid and was initially in the walled garden within the Ravenscraig Park. The guys soon realised they required somewhere a bit bigger and definitely warmer. Fife council offered them the old football pavilion at the other end of the Ravenscraig Park. They jumped at the chance and soon got to work transforming the shed.

The shed keeps evolving and it is now open to both men and women. It is also a place to help reduce social isolation for those who are on their own and looking for some company.
